MELVILLE rose-grower Brian Anderson (78) has furthered his knack of winning at State Championships taking out two top awards at this year’s event.

Mr Anderson competed in the Rose Society of WA’s Spring Championship Show at the Boulevard Centre in Floreat this month where he retained his State Championship status and also won the champion Kardinal rose of the show.

Mr Anderson said he was “happy as Larry” to receive recognition for his efforts.

“A lot of hard work and a lot of money goes into fertilising and grooming roses. This is my hobby and thoroughly enjoy it,” he said.

The Rose Society of WA hosts competitions at each monthly meeting. Contact Brian on 9330 3072 for details.
