THE Liberal Party has announced it would give $1 million to the Kalamunda Rugby Union Club to help it establish itself as the eastern region’s centre of rugby.
On Sunday, Liberal candidate Ken Wyatt, with the party’s deputy leader Julie Bishop, pledged the money if their party won government. The funds would go towards the club’s expansion so it can host larger scale matches and work towards becoming a centre.
“The Kalamunda Rugby Union Club is currently home to over 200 families of Hasluck, with the potential to become the Eastern Region’s centre for rugby, this will expand to encapsulate the whole region of Hasluck, from Midland in the north to Southern River in the south,” Mr Wyatt said.
“The funding will provide new lights for the ground, will assist in preparation of architectural plans and supplement community raised funds to construct their building plans.”
