ARANMORE Catholic College student Numi Tupaea is off to Adelaide to represent WA at the Netball Underage Nationals in April.

The 14-year-old is the youngest player in the 12-strong under-17s squad and has played the sport since the age of six.

Sports-mad Tupaea, who plays for the West Coast Falcons in the Wanneroo District Netball League, also plays touch rugby and hopes to play professional netball one day.

“The support from my teachers and my school mates has been great, it’s a team effort,” she said.

“I really enjoy the team atmosphere of sport and learning things about yourself too.”

Tupaea said she was confident WA would perform well at this year’s nationals.

She attended the same event in Canberra last year and was the youngest competitor at the competition at just 13.
