A UNIQUE grassroots national men’s health program that raises awareness about men’s prostate and continence health has far exceeded expectations, reaching its target audience of 19,200 nine months ahead of schedule.

The National Men’s Health Ambassador Speaker Program managed by the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia has been very popular and the program target has been increased to 50,000 people.

There are now more than 100 ambassadors conducting face-to-face educational presentations on prostate and continence health to a wide variety of community clubs and sporting associations across the country to educate men and families about the importance of men’s health and maintaining regular contact with their GPs.

The program, funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, National Men’s Continence Awareness Project and managed by the Foundation, was launched in late 2008 and has far surpassed expectations.

We have been thrilled about the success of the program and the incredible efforts of the ambassador speakers, who have now presented to almost 30,000 people. We hope that with the support of the community we can reach our new target of 50,000 people.

Ambassador speakers are available in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote Australia and want to share important links to increase awareness about prostate health and men’s continence health.

Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia can supply an ambassador speaker on prostate health and continence health any day, anywhere, any time at no cost.

To invite an ambassador speaker call 1800 206 700 or email ambassador@prostate.org.au.
