AUSTRALIAN children’s musical super group The Wiggles are heading back to Perth to debut their biggest live show ever.

The aptly titled The Big Big Show will also be the first time the group will perform one their highly sought-after shows in the round.

Yellow Wiggle Sam Moran said the group was thrilled about the new stage set-up as it would bring them even closer to their eager fans.

“We are now going to be right in the centre of the auditorium,” he said.

“So even if you are way up the back, you are going to be quite close.”

Even though The Wiggles have been entertaining children from all over the world since 1991, Moran said it was still easy for them to get excited about performing.

“You get out on stage and see the children smiling and having a great time; that really spurs you on and you just really forget about everything else,” he said.

“You forget about how sore you are or how much your knees hurt; you realise that it is the only show those children are going to see, so you have to make it the best one you can.

“We are very child-centred and focused on what the child is getting out of everything and I think parents really see how sincere we are about that.”

Moran joined the group in 2007 when the original Yellow Wiggle, Greg Page, was forced to retire from the group due to illness.

Even though Moran had been on one of The Wiggles’ understudies for five years, he said it still took him time to adjust to being a permanent fixture but he now “definitely feels like part of the whole team”.

“I had already been on the road with the guys for years before taking over, so we all knew each other very well,” he said.

“There was the odd child where Greg was their favourite and of course we miss him as well.

“Some parents may have had some problems with it early on, but when they have seen the shows and DVDs they end up welcoming with me with open arms.”

The Wiggles have become a permanent fixture on Australia’s entertainment rich list.

While they have been the number one earner for the past four years, this year they came in third with speculated earnings of $45 million.
Their slip in earnings has been blamed on the US economy, which makes up The Wiggles’ largest market.
When asked about their incredible wealth and earning power, Moran remained modest and unfazed.

“We live in our own bubble really; we don’t have any real concept of how big The Wiggles are or what other people’s perceptions are of us,” he said.

“So it is certainly something we pinch ourselves about all the time.”

The Wiggles are at the Burswood Dome on November 30 and December 1.
