Perhaps best know for his work as a choreographer on the television series So You Think You Can Dance, the Perth-born dancer will work with Buzz Dance Theatre on his loud and fast-paced work, which he wrote in November last year.
Shortbursts is part of Buzz’s 25th birthday program and can be performed at a number of venues or events, including schools, where it can be performed in conjunction with workshops.
Shortbursts dance workshops are suitable for anyone aged eight years or older.
Three of Marko’s 10-minute dance pieces will be performed at the Joondalup Festival, on March 27 and 28.
Marko said his work with Buzz Dance Theatre was his way of giving something back to the Perth dance community.
“I am passionate about my hometown and Buzz, and happy that I could create a work for them,” he said.
Marko is working on a new series for ABC3 called Dance Academy, which will screen in May.
The series will travel to Brisbane for the Australian musical version of Fame.
